Sweden’s former business leader Leif Östling once claimed that wealth and poverty are genetic, proving that the rich will justify anything—no logic required. Meanwhile, the rest of us live in the metaphorical litter box of life, trying not to step in the mess. Every now and then, like a cat staring off into space, we get to pause, judge quietly, and pretend we’re in charge.
